White TRUFFLE HUNT TOUR MONFERRATO

White Truffles -- The Diamonds of Vegetables

Piemonte is one of the few regions in the world to find the esteemed white truffle and it is certainly the most prolific and famous. These prized tubers grow only in the wild in certain climate zones along the roots of oak, beech or hazel trees. Italian truffle hunters must be licensed to forage on highly protected lands, must use only three specific tools and must hunt with a truffle dog. No wonder these delicate morsels are some of the most coveted and expensive food ingredients in the world.  Watch video.

The White Truffle Hunt tour rolls out as follows:

  • At approximately 9:30am you will meet your Truffle Hunt guides and PeiPei the truffle dog extraordinaire at the agriturismo for "un caffe".
  • After a short drive through the countryside you will come to a picturesque and serene truffle forest. Your guide will provide you with boots for the foraging.
  • You will learn the basics of truffle hunting, where they are likely to grow, the rules of engagement, how to extract them carefully -- very carefully from their nesting place. Peipei will do the initial reconnaissance, sniff them out and lead you to the delicate morsels. If it is a good day, Pepe will find two or more truffles. Any truffles found are yours to keep and can be relished at lunch or saved for a later day.
  • You will lunch back at the agriturismo restaurant at approximately 1pm.  Lunch will be a fixed menu always with a vegetarian option available. Lunch will include at least two truffle dishes that are made with truffles provided by the restaurant.  You are welcome to augment the dishes with any truffles found on the hunt. All of the ingredients are home grown and locally sourced  in the traditional style of Piemonte - home of the Slow Food Movement.
  • After lunch you will tour the agriturismo grounds, depending on weather, as well as take a journey back in time in the farmhouse museum located on the property. Prepare to be amazed. Watch video.
  • Your day ends at approximately 3pm at the agriturismo location.

The White Truffle Hunt cost is $199 per person and includes the cost for the lunch with white truffles and wine. There is minimum of two participants or $398. Participants will meet the guide and host at the agriturismo. Reserve your Truffle Hunt now at the grey  link above.  Or, for more information email us at info@mymonferrato.com

Real Estate - Properties For Sale Tours Monferrato Region

Looking to Buy a House in Italy? Let Us Save You Time and Money!

We are very excited to offer our Properties For Sale Tours again this year as we find more and more Americans traveling to Italy who want to buy property in this stunning and very affordable region.  Buying a home in Italy is easy! But finding a home in Italy can be very, very difficult.

We are English/Italian speaking Americans who moved to the Monferrato Piedmont region of Italy several years ago. (Read our story). We have more than five years experience working with Italian Real Estate Agents in the Piedmont area and representing American clients who are looking to buy in Italy.

We specialize in a very specific type of house -- traditional and typically Italian, pre-1920's, of stone and/or wood structure, a villa, country house, palace or farmhouse with original elements either preserved or able to be restored. If this is the type of Italian home you are looking for, read on.

We work very closely with our clients to develop a list of specific criteria, needs, wants and nice-to-haves and we arrange Real Estate Tours of homes for sale based on that criteria. Compared to working directly with Italian Agents, we provide huge time and cost saving benefits to our clients,  including:

  • Italian Agents will show you only the properties that they represent for sale. It you want to see other properties, you have to contact the Seller's Agents for those properties. There really are no "Buyer's Agents" in Italy. As such, you could be working and juggling schedules with ten different agents!  Believe us, this is the biggest obstacle to finding a house in Italy.

  • We will show you all properties in the area that fit your criteria, you only have to deal with one person--us, making for a very streamlined process.

  • Italian Agents will try to show you all of the properties they represent regardless of your criteria. This results in a lot of time wasted driving to and touring houses that you would never consider.

  • We will only show you properties which fit your criteria and the many, many discussions we will have before scheduling your tour . We filter out the myriad of "clutter" homes.

  • When researching available homes online, there is no central listing website like MLS or Zillow in America. You have to scour all of the Italian real estate websites to find all of the properties available in your target area. Keeping up on this info is a huge time commitment.

  • We do this work for you, saving you hundreds of hours of online research.

  • Many Italian Agents in the Piemonte area speak little or no English. Often they are slow to respond to English inquiries. This can be frustrating when your travel dates are fast approaching or when you have a limited time here.

  • We speak English and Italian and will always respond promptly.

Convinced? Our Properties For Sale Tours roll out as follows:

  • Through several email and telephone exchanges we will work closely with you to create and develop a list of criteria for the house you are seeking.

  • Based on your criteria, we will create and send you a list of properties with links, photos and sale information. We will work together fine tuning the list until your visit.

  • We will set up appointments for the day of your tour with the various Italian Real Estate Agents.

  • On your appointed tour date at approximately 10am you will meet us in the town square  for "un caffe". We will discuss the plan of action and additions and deletions to the list, then we will commence the tour.

  • We break for for a midday lunch at a local ristorante, osteria or trattoria.

  • The tour day will last five to six hours depending on the number and proximity of properties on the list.

Our Properties For Sale Tour is $750 per tour day (per day, not per person). The client supplies one touring car or van, we do not supply or drive the vehicle. This price does not include lunch which can be in any form you choose. The price does include the many hours of research and coordination that we spend in formulating a curated property list and setting viewing appointments.

To reserve your Properties For Sale Tour guide and date, click on the grey button to the right. Once we receive your reservation we will commence frequent email and/or telephone communications with you to begin and perfect a list of  properties for your tour. Or for more information email us at info@mymonferrato.com

In addition to our Properties For Sale Tours, we offer a full range of Real Estate and Relocation Concierge Services for Americans looking to buy a home and/or move to Italy. Click here for more information on these services.

Properties For Rent (LONG-TERM) Tours Monferrato Region

Looking to Long-Term Rent a House or Apartment in Italy? Let Us Save Your Time and Money!

We are very excited to offer our Properties for Rent Tours again this year as we find more and more Americans traveling to Italy who want to rent property long-term  in this stunning and very affordable region. Finding a home to rent from afar can be very, very difficult.

We are English/Italian speaking Americans who moved to the Monferrato Piedmont region of Italy several years ago. We have more than five years experience representing American clients who are looking to find long-term rental accommodations in Italy.

We work very closely with our clients to develop a list of specific criteria, needs, wants and nice-to-haves and we comb the myriad rental listing sources to come up with a single or multi-day tour based on that criteria. We provide huge time and cost saving benefits to our clients who are still in the States including:

  • Italian Agents will only show you properties they represent for rent. It you want to see other properties, you have to contact the Agents of those properties. As such, you could be working and juggling schedules with ten different agents! Believe us, this is the biggest obstacle to finding a rental in Italy.

  • We will show you all properties in the area that fit your criteria, you only have to deal with one person- us, making for a very streamlined process.

  • Italian Agents will try to show you all of the properties they represent regardless of your criteria. This results in a lot of time wasted driving to and touring houses that you would never consider.

  • We will only show you properties which fit your criteria and the many, many discussions we will have before scheduling you tours . We filter out the myriad of "clutter" rentals.

  • Many Italian Agents or rental unit owners in the Piemonte area speak little or no English. Often they are slow to respond to English inquiries. This can be frustrating when your travel dates are fast approaching or when you have a limited time here.

  • We speak English and Italian and will always respond promptly.

  • Trying to find and sort through online rental listings from afar is a very, very difficult process. A listing may look good online but it may be in an ugly building or neighborhood, or on a busy street corner or in a locale not at all to your liking.

  • We do the research and the reconnaissance for you! We know which towns and areas are nice and which ones are not so nice. We know which agents represent the best listings. We know all of the area specific online resources and local websites with rental  listings. Performing a Google search for rental listings in Italian language from the desired Italian geographical area produces a very different set of results than performing a Google search in English from the United States...

Sounds like we could really save you time and money right?  Our Properties for Rent Tours roll out as follows:

  • Through several email and telephone exchanges we will work closely with you to develop a list of criteria for the rental you are seeking.

  • Based on your criteria, we will compile and send you a list of rentals with links, photos and rental information. We will work together fine tuning the list until your visit.

  • We will set up appointments for the day of your tour with the Italian Real Estate Agents or property owners.

  • On your appointed tour date at approximately 10am you will meet us in the town square  for "un caffe". We will discuss the plan of action and additions and deletions to the list.

  • We break for for a midday lunch at a local ristorante, osteria or trattoria.

  • The tour will last five to six hours depending on the number and proximity of properties on the list.
